Green Zone Turns Bird Zone

The children of Sandown School have been doing some fantastic environmental work over the last year.  Their Forest School woodland area, known as the Green Zone, has been used for many great activities, such as the very popular Green Zone Bird Club and for taking part in the RSPB Big Schools’ Birdwatch.  The children also participated in a “What’s Under Your Feet’ survey, in which they became citizen scientists to help collect data for an investigation into the decline of many British birds. The environmental work that the children are doing is clearly having a very positive impact on their understanding and appreciation of the environment.
