Greening Winton

The aim of Winton Primary School's project was to integrate gardening and outdoor learning into the curriculum for the whole school. The many opportunities for outdoor learning at the school are extremely impressive.  They have a wonderful new courtyard in which children can take part in outdoor activities such as growing fruit and vegetables, cooking outdoors and taking part in wildlife surveys.  The children have started to compost their own fruit waste, take part in litter picks, build bug hotels and hedgehog homes and learn about waste and recycling. The school even has its own market stall where they sell their fruit and vegetables to parents and carers. The children made a great video which explained the activities they are involved in and conveyed their great enthusiasm for the time they spend in their school garden.
