Fabulous Feeders

Dairsie Primary School's winning entry showcased eco-friendly bird feeders crafted from recycled bottles, wire, and custom-designed components produced using the school's 3D printer. What set this project apart was its holistic approach to sustainability and social responsibility.

For over a year, the school has been providing a valuable community service by collecting glass bottles. The students ingeniously repurposed some of these bottles for their bird feeder project. In a commendable gesture, half of the profits generated from this social enterprise are donated to local food banks and the British Red Cross, supporting refugees in need.

This project exemplifies how a simple idea can create far-reaching positive impacts. Their recycled bird feeders brilliantly address the needs of people, wildlife, and the planet simultaneously. It's an inspiring example of young environmental champions in action.”

As Regional Champions, Dairsie Primary School will receive a £750 grant to further their educational initiatives.
