‘Kitchen Garden’ and ‘Y1-6 Sustainability Curriculum’

The basic aim of Henry Maynard Primary School’s new sustainability curriculum is to teach pupils about the climate crisis and how we can create change to combat the problem. As part of this, every child at the school has been able to visit the new kitchen garden to learn about where our food comes from, how to grow and care for plants, as well as finding out about healthy eating and sustainable food practices.

In recognition of their outstanding achievements, Henry Maynard Primary School has received £500 to be put towards theschool funds, empowering them to further their green initiatives and inspire future generations of environmentalists.

YPTE's Director, Peter Littlewood, commended the children's enthusiasm, stating, “We were really impressed with the school’s new sustainability curriculum. They have a fantastic eco celebration for Earth Day each year too, with a fantastic exhibition of the children’s learning for parents to see.”
