Lochdonhead Primary School's young eco-warriors have proven that young people are very much able to have a positive impact on our planet's future.
The children at Lochdonhead took part in a wide range of environmental learning during the year, which included taking part in bird watching and identification, creating model bird nests, making nest boxes for birds, learning about sustainability and identifying local trees and flowers. They also created their own map showing where locally-sourced produce was grown.
As a testament to their outstanding achievements, Lochdonhead Primary School have been awarded £500 towards the school funds, empowering them to further their green initiatives and inspire even more young environmentalists.
YPTE's Director, Peter Littlewood, praised the children's enthusiasm, stating, “Lochdonhead Primary School is no stranger to the PAGES competition. We were delighted to see another great entry from the children again this year. We particularly like the way in which they spend so much time learning in the outdoors, as it gives them a real appreciation of the natural world around them.”
