Green Action Takers

The Eco Committee at St Bride's has been the driving force behind a diverse range of environmental activities throughout the year, engaging the entire school community. From promoting walking to school to exploring the climate emergency, the committee has left a lasting impact. Their efforts extended beyond the school grounds, as they adopted a Koala at Edinburgh Zoo and raised an impressive £1,000 for the charity Mary's Meals. The school's garden has also undergone a remarkable transformation, with the exciting addition of a polytunnel and raised beds, setting the stage for a bountiful harvest of homegrown vegetables.

In recognition of their outstanding achievements, St Bride's Primary School have received £500 to be put towards their school funds, empowering them to further their green initiatives and inspire future generations of environmentalists.

YPTE's Director, Peter Littlewood, commended the children's enthusiasm, stating, "It was wonderful to see the level of engagement and action inspired by the Eco Committee. The children's passion for their revitalised garden is evident, and we are confident they will thoroughly enjoy growing and savouring their own produce!"
