Eco-Den

The fifteen children of Longhaven School had nowhere to shelter in the rain and the wind so took the initiative to transform an old shed! Working with tools and paint and with a little help from the parents they turned half of a shed into a fantastic Eco Den! The children embarked on a mission to understand all about energy, particularly electricity and wind power. To provide electricity for the dark den they researched how to make electricity and visited wind turbines and local power stations. They also wrote letters to find out more about energy, especially dynamos.

Armed with this new knowledge they sought to solve their dark problem by turning a bicycle into a power station! Now happy children have a warm and light Eco Den to play and read in all year round!
