Dark Day

After a visit to Global Renewables in Leyland the children became aware at how electricity was made and decided to do something to reduce energy consumption.

The children submitted a great project with plenty of research and planning, explaining all about what Dark Day would be, a poster competition, permission forms for teachers wanting to use electricity, surveys for during Dark Day, and after, to find out what the teachers and children thought about it. Bringing their numeracy skills to the project they then compared energy use with a normal day by looking at the data in graph form.
