Inspired by Forest School training, Thomas Johnson Lower School designed learning activities which, where possible, took the children out of the classroom - into the school grounds, nearby woodlands and even their own gardens! Activities within the classroom were centred around living things, with chicks in a brooder box and bulbs growing on tables. It was fantastic to see how environmental issues are being studied across the curriculum and in a very hands-on practical way. The children are clearly thoroughly enjoying the activities and the chicks have been a particular source of inspiration.
