Fochriw Primary School Regional Winner 2022, Green Action Takers - Wales/ N. Ireland

Fochriw Primaru took a whole school approach to developing ethical, informed citizens through active work aiming to 'energise the school and wider community', which focused upon Sustainable Development Goals.

The multifaceted approach to these aims was demonstrated in a presentation, which documented the children's tree planting efforts, along with their new log pile and bug hotel.   The Eco Committee (made up of pupils) has been the driving force behind many of the projects, which also included an awareness-raising 'Eco-Snoopy' sculpture, which was on display for visitors to Caerphilly town centre!
