Climate Stripes

The children of Exminster Community Primary School's Climate Club learned about climate change in an early morning club that was run by Dr Chris Jones, who works at the Met Office.  Climate stripes are a good way of visualising the way in which the world's climate is changing, abd having learned about them, the children in Climate Club decided to create a new banner for the school building, which showed the Climate Stripes for Exminster from 1884 to 2021.  Climate Club were able to visit the Met Office, find out about the supercomputers used in weather forecasting and even got to present their own weather reports!  Through their work, the members of Climate Club educated not only other children, but also the staff and parents at the school too.  They have also spread the the message out to the entire village and more widely via social media.
